Starchy & Husk – Portland Oregon – Food Cart Hood Installation

We had a great time helping Tom build his food cart. The cart is called Starchy & Husk with the food focus being killer mac-n-cheese and cornbread. Roasted corn is coming this summer as we are in the building phase of his custom corn roaster.

John Toboada, chef and owner of Navarre will soon be opening Luce, (Pronounced “looh-chay). Part restaurant, part event space, part unofficial cooking school, Luce comprises two storefronts on the corner of 22nd and East Burnside.

We met John at the permits office a couple weeks ago and he invited us to do a small stainless steel job on some existing equipment. We finished removing a soup well station from the end of an existing cabinet, cut down and modified the cabinet base and refurbished the end of the cabinet. the we removed an existing electrical chase from the cabinet top and patched in a new piece of stainless. Here’s a few shots of the improvements.

A new iece of stainless steel is tack welded in.

Then it gets fully welded.

Done! Hole is gone and top looks like new. Nice!
